Zita's Little World

Just a random series of thoughts that run through my head.

Thank God this week is over.

So,
You'd think that the first few weeks of school would be a little more mellow than you find during midterms or finals...That may be true for anyone not involved in a women's fraternity (or sorority, whichever you prefer). But for those of us who are, I guarantee you that this past week was the most stressful of my entire academic year.

Formal recruitment is a five day long process in which anywhere from 50 to 150 girls interested in joining a fraternity are shuffled from Sorority house to Sorority house in order to facilitate their decisions (by facilitate I also mean coerce). Anyway, the houses become a disaster and, seeing as I am currently living in my frat house (hell has in fact frozen over), my entire week has been defined by one word: CHAOS!

First I had to let around fifty strangers into my room. Now, I'm not a very shy or private person, but my one golden rule is that MY space is MY space. So that sucked. People made fun of my frog collection and discovered the one best keep secret about Zita Dube: She's actually a female, with feminine traits ( like stuffed animals, tons of pictures, and decorative pillows....I know, it's sick). Then, I realized that because of the chaos in my house, I couldn't really access all of my food. So I basically went an entire week eating only the finger food provided at the events themselves. I hardly slept for four days trying to make sure that all the decorations and things were ready for the next day. And I had to smile for 5 days in a row, which if you know me requires a lot of energy. However, it all paid off and last night Pi Beta Phi bid 11 new girls. Having helped my chapter acheive quota for the second year in a row, I think that I shall spend the next few days resting and catching up on homework. Oh, and I will have the internet soon, so I'll be able to post a lot more regularly.

Keepin' it real.
Zita
